Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has hired Ashurst financial regulatory partner James Perry. Perry has been a partner at Ashurst since 1998, having joined the firm in 1987. He sits in the financial institutions group in London, working on corporate transactional and regulatory matters for clients such as Skandia, Credit Agricole and Société Générale.

Former Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) lawyer Edward Coulson has returned to the firm as a partner in the competition litigation team. Coulson left BLP for the partnership of Hausfeld last year.

DWF partner Mark Kenkre and legal director Helen Briant have joined Trowers & Hamlins’ dispute resolution and litigation team in Birmingham as partners. Former DWF partner Keith Mills has also joined as a consultant.

Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office has appointed Paddy Sturman as a partner in its banking and finance team from Gordons, where he was head of the practice group.
TLT has appointed Jason Cropper as a regulatory partner in its Manchester office. He joins from DWF.
Clarke Willmott has expanded its commercial litigation team in Manchester by hiring Linder Myers partner John Flint to head up a North West dispute resolution team.

Doreen Zankowski has joined Duane Morris’ construction practice group as a partner in the firm’s Boston office after a four-year career at Saul Ewing.
K&L Gates has added Jill Louis as a partner in the firm’s corporate and M&A practice. Louis was most recently general counsel and corporate secretary for heavy duty truck distributor FleetPride.

Kathryn Purkis has returned to Serle Court to practise at the Bar full-time, following a nine-year period at Jersey firm Collas Crill. She was managing partner at the offshore firm from 2009 to 2012.
23 Essex Street has announced that Mishcon de Reya solicitor-advocate Trevor Withane has joined as a barrister in its financial and general crime teams.
Promotions
Cayman Islands firm Campbells has promoted five partners including litigation lawyer Andrew Pullinger and property specialist Lily Lee. Richard Spencer, Mark Adams and Simon Thomas have all been made up in the investment funds and corporate and finance group.
Intellectual property and digital media firm Hansel Henson has promoted Justine Flockhart to partner.
Iberian firm Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira has promoted eight new partners to its equity, including London finance lawyer Ignacio Buil. The other promotions come from Barcelona, Girona, Lisbon and Madrid.
Carina Rogerio was made partner in Singapore by German firm Luther in Singapore. Rogerio joined Luther in 2011 and is head of the firm’s French desk in the region.
Penningtons Manches has made up seven lawyers across the UK, including Basingstoke, Guildford, London and Oxford. James d’Aquino, Penny Evans and Hazar El-Chamaa have been promoted in London, while trademarks lawyer Gavin Stenton and corporate specialist James Went have both been made up in Oxford.
