DWF has made a team hire from PwC Legal in London, taking head of commercial disputes Jonathan Isaacs and two associates.

Isaacs joins with senior associate Joshua Fineman and solicitor Alex Green.

DWF said the appointments were part of a bid to capitalise on the likely flood of litigation following the Brexit vote in June. A statement read: “Following the Brexit vote, there will be some level of confusion in the commercial arena in the short to medium term, leading to an upturn in the number and significance of issues for clients.”

Isaacs spent six years at the accountancy giant’s legal arm, which gained a licence to operate as an ABS in 2014.

DWF head of litigation Graham Dagnall said the three appointments will help boost the firm’s City disputes practice, “building on the specialist international arbitration and technology focus the team in London currently has”.

DWF has lost a handful of disputes partners so far this year. Fieldfisher hired litigator James Lappin in February, while Trowers & Hamlins hired three commercial litigators from DWF in Birmingham in April, including local head of disputes Keith Mills.

The firm has made a number of lateral hires this year including legacy Wragge Lawrence Graham banking director Amrish Sharma, BLM professional indemnity partner David Kidman and Squire Patton Boggs partner Matthew Doughty, who joined as London head of corporate.
