Addleshaw Goddard has hired Charles Russell Speechlys projects head Matthew Newing in an attempt to pick up more London healthcare and projects work in London.
Newing joined legacy Speechly Bircham in 2009 and has worked at a number of firms including Nabarro and Stephenson Harwood.
He joins Addleshaws as a partner in the firm’s London infrastructure, projects and energy (IPE) group.
The hire comes as Addleshaws bids to boost its real estate healthcare sector.
Charles Russell Speechlys associate Natalie Barron will join Newing at Addleshaws, having worked alongside him for nine years.
Addleshaws’ head of London IPE David Hartley said: “With restrictions on public expenditure likely to continue for the foreseeable future, demand for social infrastructure development continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to building on these opportunities in London, using alternative delivery models and our national network.”
On Monday (5 September) Addleshaws revealed that its top of equity had grown 19 per cent and now stands at £1.12m, breaking the £1m barrier for the first time.
