Dechert is continuing to bulk up in London, this time hiring from Kirkland & Ellis and White & Case.

The US firm has recruited Kirkland European debt finance partner John Markland and White & Case private equity partner Ross Allardice.

Markland has been a partner in Kirkland’s London office since 2004 and is the founding partner of its European debt finance team.

He joined Kirkland in 2004 from Weil Gotshal & Manges and previously worked at Clifford Chance.

Markland and Allardice worked together at Kirkland between 2004 and 2013 until the latter left for White & Case.

The move saw Allardice join White & Case’s growing private equity team led by former Linklaters partners Ian Bagshaw and Richard Youle.

Dechert has been in recruitment mode in London this year, also hiring DLA Piper finance heavyweights Philip Butler and David Miles. Both join next month.

Butler was DLA Piper’s co-chair of the financial services sector, while Miles was its head of debt finance in the UK.
