Gowling WLG has announced its second round of partner promotions from the real estate and dispute resolution groups since its merger with Canadian firm Gowling in 2015.

A total of five UK partners have been made up, officially joining the partnership in May.

The number of promotions grew from the two UK promotions last year as a fully merged firm. Gowling made 17 partner appointments prior to the Anglo-Canadian merger.

London-based real estate partner Felicity Lindsay was senior counsel at Macfarlanes prior to joining Gowling WLG, while fellow real estate partner Sarah Galvin trained at legacy Wragges.

The other four partners, all based in Birmingham, cover pensions, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. They are Elizabeth Gane, Samantha Holland, Felicity Lindsay and Mark Stephenson.

David Fennell, chief executive at Gowling UK said: “Our new partners advise clients in some of our most successful practices and sectors. They have all demonstrated energy, innovation and commitment in helping these clients achieve their business objective over a number of years. I am delighted to welcome them to the partnership.”

Gowling WLG recently confirmed a strategy boost to its footprint in Europe, considering two mergers in the region by 2020 after launching a new office in Germany last week.
