Simmons & Simmons has re-elected Colin Passmore for a third term as senior partner after being re-elected to the role he has held since 2011.

Passmore’s reappointment will be effective from 1 August and will last for a further four years.

Passmore joined Simmons & Simmons in 1986, he was made partner in 1990 and senior partner for the first time in 2011. He was re-elected in 2014. His practice focuses on litigation for financial institutions, professional services firms and insurance entities.

Passmore worked in the firm’s Hong Kong office from 1986 to 1991, and in Abu Dhabi in the early 1990s.

Passmore said:  “Over the past six years, a great deal has changed for professional services, but it’s clear that more change is still to come. The current market offers many challenges and many rewards and I welcome the opportunity to continue my work alongside Jeremy Hoyland and the firm’s board as we build on our strengths to meet our clients’ needs.”

Hoyland, who was re-elected as managing partner in 2014, added: “This is a strong endorsement of the leadership Colin has shown as the firm’s senior partner since 2011. I look forward to continuing to work with him to achieve the firm’s ambitious plans.”
