Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired a further seven partners for its new Houston office, this time recruiting from Morgan Lewis & Bockius and McGuireWoods.
The additions bring the firm’s total number of lawyers in the city to 22, after it opened in Houston at the start of the month.
Former co-chair of Morgan Lewis’ Latin American team Carlos Treistman is joining Orrick to co-chair its Latin America practice, along with Rodrigo Dominguez.
The pair are both corporate partners and will move to Orrick alongside fellow partner Bill Parish, who shares Dominguez’s focus in the energy sector. Former Morgan Lewis partners Jonathan Ayre and Joe Roger complete the quintet starting at Orrick, with the duo working on transactions concerning oil and gas assets.
Meanwhile McGuireWoods’ co-leader of its oil and gas team David Ronn also joins the new firm in Houston, further acting as the office’s hiring partner. He will be followed by tax partner Barbara de Marigny, with a public finance trio from McGuireWoods having already made the move to Orrick in the first flurry of hires.
DLA Piper, McDermott Will & Emery and Andrew Kurth all lost partners to Orrick as it launched in Houston at the start of the month.
