Taylor Wessing has hired Bird & Bird partner Angus Miln to its corporate technology team in London. Miln was at his former firm for over nine years and founded and led its venture capital practice. Prior to this, he was a solicitor at US firm Latham & Watkins.

Private prosecution boutique Edmonds Marshall McMahon is launching a civil fraud team with the hire of Herbert Smith Freehills’ (HSF) head of fraud and asset tracing Robert Hunter.
Carpmaels & Ransford has hired four members to its patent litigation and life sciences practices. David Wilson joins as a partner from HSF, alongside Arnold & Porter counsel Jake Marshall and senior associate Jennifer Antcliff, formerly a counsel at Actavis (now Allergan). Senior associate Sarah Johnson joined Carpmaels from Hogan Lovells last year.
BLM has strengthened its occupational disease team with the appointment of Plexus Law consultant Laura Trezise, who joins as a partner.
Dispute resolution duo Chris Gooding and Sukhi Kaler have joined Nabarro as partners from Fasken Martineau.
Jim Wood has joined BL Claims Solicitors as a senior associate in the personal injury team from the partnership of Lamport Bassitt.

Clarke Willmott has strengthened its corporate and commercial teams by hiring Coffin Mew partner Richard Swain and senior associate Amy Kerr, an associate at her former firm. They will be based in Southampton, while Ashfords associate Kirill Kruchinin also joins in Truro as a senior associate.
Trethowans has appointed Paris Smith partner Sarah Wheadon to head up its new health and safety and regulatory division.

Browne Jacobson has boosted its public sector team with the appointment of partner Anita Bradley to its Nottingham office. She joins from Cheshire East Borough Council where she was head of legal services and monitoring officer.
Freeths has appointed Nigel Gardner as a partner in Birmingham, with Gardner having previously led DWF’s commercial team.

Squire Patton Boggs has announced the appointment of real estate partner Mark Barker, who joins from DWF in Manchester.
Corporate partner Mike Spetch has joined northeast-based Muckle after seven years at Ward Hadaway.

Gilson Gray has hired Warners Property’s residential conveyancing team in Edinburgh. Debbie McCathie will become a partner and head of the team, while Cheryl Anderson joins as a senior solicitor.
Harper Macleod has hired private client partner Richard Murray from the wealth protection team at Shoosmiths, while employment partner Dawn Robertson also joins from the partnership of Young & Partners.

DLA Piper has appointed Miroslav Dubovský as country managing partner for the Czech Republic. Dubovský joins the firm from Weinhold Legal, which is now part of EY Law.
Dispute resolution partner Mukhit Yeleuov has joined Kinstellar in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He was formerly a national partner at Dechert.
Pawel Kulak has joined the Warsaw office of Schoenherr as a partner. He was previously an adviser to the President in the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection.
Covington & Burling has hired Erika Mann as a senior European policy adviser in Brussels. She recently served as managing director of public policy for Facebook from 2011 until the end of 2015.
Andrey Ryabinin has joined Integrites as a partner in the Moscow office, having previously chaired the bankruptcy practice of Muranov Chernyakov and Partners.
Mayer Brown has hired private equity partners Julian Lemor and Birgit Hübscher-Alt in the firm’s Frankfurt office. The pair join from King & Wood Mallesons.
US
The Chicago office of K&L Gates has added David Rieser as of counsel in the firm’s environmental, land and natural resources practice. He joins from Much Shelist, where he was head of the environmental practice.
Senior counsel Jessica Staton has joined Butler Snow’s business services group in New York. She was previously an associate at Chadbourne & Parke and will transfer to Butler Snow’s London office in September.

Baker & McKenzie has appointed Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr’s national head of competition Nick Altini, who joins the firm in Johannesburg along with senior associate Leana Engelbrecht.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has appointed Kunal Gupta as a partner in its New Delhi office. Prior to joining the firm, Kunal was a partner with Grant Thornton.
Bird & Bird has recruited two dispute resolution (DR) partners in Asia, including Jonathan Choo in Singapore and Robert Rhoda in Hong Kong.
White & Case’s associated law firm in Indonesia, Witara Cakra Advocates, has appointed Kristo Molina and Fajar Ramadhan as capital markets and banking partners. Both join from Indonesian firm Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung, which works in association with HSF.

Josh Messing has joined HWL Ebsworth Lawyers as a partner within its technology, media and communications team in Sydney. He joins from HSF.

Allen & Overy has rejigged its leadership team with managing partner Wim Dejonghe becoming the firm’s senior partner from the start of May and corporate co-head Andrew Ballheimer taking
up the post of managing partner.
Andrew Stott has been named as Olswang Asia’s new managing partner, taking over from Rob Bratby in May. The firm has also announced the promotion of commercial lawyer Matt Pollins in the Singapore office to partner.
