Pinsent Masons has been added to Land Securities’ legal roster, while Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has come off in the first review carried out by new general counsel Tim Ashby.

The panel will last for five years from May and consists of the real estate company’s previous advisers, including Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), CMS Cameron McKenna and DAC Beachcroft.

Eversheds, Herbert Smith Freehills, Hogan Lovells and Nabarro have also been reappointed.

Land Securities kicked off the review at the end of last year and the roster is the first to be compiled by new general counsel Tim Ashby. He joined from Mothercare last year.

As part of the review, the company’s two-tiered panel has been combined into one single roster, with the A list having previously offered higher annual billings.

The roster is understood to concern Land Securities’ property, construction, planning and real estate litigation work only, but the company is also believed to have another list of firms for specialist corporate and finance advice. These include Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance and Slaughter and May.

Land Securities conducted its last panel review in 2013 under former general counsel Adrian de Souza.
