Insurance litigation firm BLM has been hit by eight resignations in its Southampton office, including its Bristol and Southampton head Michael Renshaw.
The departures will see the firm’s Southampton office halve in size from 16 partners to eight, although it is not yet clear which partners have decided to leave alongside Renshaw.
A spokesperson for BLM confirmed that the firm had “received a number of resignations” from within its Southampton office.
“We have strong relationships with customers currently supported by lawyers in Southampton and have been assured of their continuing support for BLM,” the spokesperson continued.
The news follows BLM restructuring its fraud team in February. The firm announced it would be moving its “fraud centre of excellence” from Manchester to Birmingham, giving the current Manchester team the option to relocate or leave.
BLM has 13 offices in the UK, with London, Manchester and Birmingham serving as the three largest hubs.
Its senior partner Mike Brown was re-elected at the start of 2015 to oversee its international expansion strategy. The firm beat expectations during 2014/15 as it saw its revenue rise 17 per cent to £104.1m following its 2014 merger with Scottish firm HBM Sayers.
