Mishcon de Reya has doubled the number of partner promotions this year, making up six lawyers to its partnership.
Last year Mishcon made up three women to its partnership in an all-female round.
This year four women and two men made the cut across a range of practice groups.
Immigration lawyers Steven Bostock and Maria Patsalos were made up in the private client group; tax lawyer Stephen Diosi was made up in the incentives group; competition lawyer Sarah Houghton was made up in disputes; commercial real estate lawyer Kirpal Kaur was made up in real estate; and Jennifer Millins was made up in the employment department.
A further six associates were promoted to legal director.
The promotions round is Mishcon’s first since converting to LLP status in October last year.
Managing partner Kevin Gold said: “To be able to promote 12 people to our senior team is a real testament to the talent and experience within the firm – congratulations to all.”
The promotions bring partner headcount at Mishcon up to 118. The firm currently has around 300 lawyers, all of whom work under the broad umbrella of disputes.
Mishcon has seen a raft of changes over the last 18 months and a run of strong financial results. The firm broke the £100m revenue mark for the first time last year, with turnover up 12.5 per cent to £110m. Now it looks set to turn over around £125m in the current financial year.
The firm was granted an ABS by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) last February, appointing its first non-lawyer to the partnership, chief operating officer Bambos Georgiou, two months later.
Gold also introduced agile working and “unlimited holidays” to the firm in 2014 in a bid to attract and retain star female lawyers.
Earlier this year The Lawyer revealed Mishcon was reaching the end of a major consultation on future plans for the structure of the firm. Mooted plans could see the firm move to a John Lewis-style ownership model that would see all staff take an equity stake in the business.
