Real estate lawyer, Tom Jackson, has raised over £850 by running the Virgin Money London Marathon last Sunday.
Tom joined 39,000 athletes to run the famous 26.2 mile course and completed it in 3 hours 15 mins, not far behind Dame Kelly Holmes who finished in 3 hours 11mins.
Tom was raising funds for our nominated charity of the year, the Bone Cancer Research Trust, which was chosen after one of our employees lost an immediate family member to the disease.
Colleagues rallied to support Tom’s fundraising efforts with a gingerbread sale and even holding a sweepstake on his finishing time.
Tom Jackson said: “It was a fantastic and truly memorable experience. The last few miles were particularly gruelling but the thought of the support from colleagues, friends and family kept me going – that and jelly beans!
The Bone Cancer Research Trust has provided great support both before the race and on the day and it has been fantastic to raise funds for such a worthy charity.”

“Tom’s brilliant fundraising achievement will contribute directly to our funding of pioneering research. Primary bone cancer is a rare and brutal disease, and we’re working hard to raise awareness and improve the primary bone cancer journey for patients and their families.
We receive no government funding and rely entirely on public donations to fund our research, so it’s only through the efforts of people like Tom that we can work to change these shocking statistics and bring hope to those diagnosed with primary bone cancer every year.”
Since October Walker Morris has raised £5,500 for the charity through various fundraising activities including cake sales and dress down days.
