Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has promoted eight lawyers to its global partnership, including three in London.
Just four of WFW’s 14 offices have received new partners in this round: London, Hamburg, Singapore and Athens.
Two of the new partners are women, accounting for 25 per cent of the total round.
WFW also made up three partners in London last year out of a total seven promotions. Though there was a slight increase this year, promotions are still significantly down on 2014 when the firm made up 13 new partners across seven offices.
The majority of new partners this year work in the firm’s asset finance practice. Shawn Er and Chien Herr Lee were made up in the group in Singapore, Christian Finnern in Hamburg, Vassiliki Georgopoulos in Athens, and Lucy Shtenko and Gary Walsh in London.
The remaining two partners were made up in real estate and employment.
Of the new London partners, just one, Shtenko, trained at the firm. Walsh trained at Clark Ricketts and Hetan Ganatra trained at CMS Cameron Mckenna.
