Khaitan & Co advised Wockhardt Limited (Guarantor) and its Swiss subsidiary, Wockhardt Bio AG in relation to a $250m syndicated term loan facility availed from IDBI Bank Limited and Export Import Bank of India for the purpose of, among others, research & development expenditure, the acquisition of intellectual property rights pertaining to patents and brands and general corporate purposes.
The transaction involved security creation across multiple jurisdictions including India, USA, Mexico, UAE, Switzerland and UK. Wockhardt Ltd is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company headquartered in Mumbai.
