Stephenson Harwood corporate partner Geoff Gouriet has left the firm to become Towergate’s new general counsel.
Gouriet joined Stephenson Harwood at the end of 2014, after serving as head of corporate at legacy Lawrence Graham and then Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co from 2012.
In total, Gouriet enjoyed a 14-year career at the legacy firm and Wragges, starting there as an associate in 2000 from DJ Freeman.
Gouriet will replace outgoing general counsel and company secretary Jennifer Owens, who joined the insurance company from William Hill in November 2013.
Her appointment came as US-based insurance giant Lockton hired Towergate legal chief Sam Clark as its new general counsel at the start of 2013.
