Stephenson Harwood has promoted four lawyers to partner in its latest promotions round, with three in London and one in Hong Kong.

This is the smallest round since 2013, when the firm made up just two associates in the City. Last year, the firm almost doubled the number of partners promoted, making up more lawyers than ever before, and promoted five to partner the previous year.

Those promoted are London-based commercial litigation lawyers Donna Newman and Sophie Schultz, London-based finance lawyer George Vaughton and Hong-Kong based lawyer Elton Chan, who will become a local partner.

From 1 May, the four promoted lawyers will join the firm’s existing 149 global partners, according to figures from The Lawyer‘s Global 200 2016.

Stephenson Harwood CEO Sharon White said: “As we continue to grow our firm in line with our new strategy, we would like promotion numbers to be higher. We’ve made some great strides in improving the way we develop our people and we’ll continue to do more to support our associates at every stage of their career.”
