Norton Rose Fulbright has made up 45 partners worldwide in the last promotions round before formally merging with Chadbourne & Parke later this year.

The largest portion of the promotions this year went to Canada, with 12 in total, followed by the US with 11 and the UK with eight. Elsewhere in the network, Asia and South Africa received four new partners apiece, while Australia and the Middle East had three and one respectively.

According to information from The Lawyer’s Global 200, this would bring Norton Rose’s partner headcount in the US up from 254 to 265. Once the merger is complete, Chadbourne’s 75 US partners will bring the number up further to 340.

The UK promotions are corporate lawyers Nicholas Berry, Heiko Bertelmann, Victoria Birch, Charlotte Henry, Noleen John and Claire O’Donnell joining finance lawyer Neha Khosla and litigation lawyer Holly Stebbing.

Female partner account for around 40 per cent of the entire promotions round, which was split in three waves during the year. Promotions in Australia, Canada and the US became effective from January, those in South Africa from April, and the remainder in Europe, Middle East and Asia from May.
